Don't worry, there are no plans to cut corporate welfare, so the super rich won't have to sacrifice even a mouthful of caviar. It's only the children of the working poor who are starving to pay for it all.

However, the article lost me in the writing. The author tried too hard to sound educated, and occasionally poetic, but ended up forgetting the fact that the whole purpose was to communicate his or her point. If I gave that article to my father, who loves discussing similar topics, he wouldn't have made it past the second paragraph.
Of course, given that the article was an except of a book published by Yale University Press, my father and I aren't likely in the target audience.
