* I have not abandoned you. I've just been alternating busy and exhausted. Saturday I served tea and cake to a friend. We talked politics and European royalty 1600-the 1950's, and sorted out the garden for spring. It really needed doing as we had to jam everything in the end away from the door in a rush in January for the renovations and a bunch of perennials and hardies got stuck without enough light and water. The bulbs are coming up nicely and I think the important stuff will survive, though I am rather concerned about this years strawberries.

Livia is doing amazingly well socially. Saturday I was awake from a bathroom trip a half hourish before the alarm was meant to go off, so I turned on the light and got my book open. Tavy took the upper cuddle nap spot instantly I stopped moving. This is Livia's prime pettin location, but she turned up about a minute late and it was taken! So wanted the love so much she basically shoved her butt in his face and settled along the tib ridge. He was so committed to his cuddle nap that he not only let her, but shifted so he was sort of cuddling her butt. She go most of a hour of prime pettins cuddling with Tavy! A first. Also she has decided she really likes playing wrigglers with me. She has tried it a few times but it involves an erratically moving hand and is thus rather scary, but she has been playing for about two weeks and is really into it. So brave!

Monday I had an out of town guest all day. We were out twice for several hours at a time, but the voice was familiar and it was a really long time to hide. Livia decided to nap on the bed with Tavy in front as a guard. (Tavy usually hangs out on the bed during visits, as it's more comfortable than hiding and he can watch people go past to the kitchen and bathroom. The Contractors are not guests, but invaders.) She and Tavy got hungry and wanted to use the box. So after he had thoroughly scouted, sniffed her gear, and let her touch him briefly, he had some kibbles. She decided to chance it, as Tavy seemed to be treating the guest on a provisional basis the way he does the other two approved guests. She let the guest see her and everything and they decided to go about cat business generally after that for another hour or so until the guest left. Livia was very nervous, but she was So Brave. I am terribly proud of her.
