* A Sudanese man died when 1000 refugees tried to cross the Channel into England. Another 300 refugees made it into a secure area the next night.
* They have likely found a wing from MH-370, 4000 miles off course on La Reunion Island, likely carried on currents from the primary search area near Australia. It is covered in sea shells, so they are hoping they can use that and the currents to find the crash site. My thoughts are with the families of the dead. Let us hope they get closure.

* Cincinnati is breaking with the custom of allowing white men to randomly murder black ones without consequences, by arresting the university cop who shot an unarmed family man in the head for the crime of not having a front license plate. They are actually appropriately treating it as the murder it clearly is and the murderer is in custody.
I'd like to add that the Police Chief there just impressed the hell out of me for having taken concrete steps to improve policing in his city since the last murder of this type.
At the same time I am ashamed that in this country, police being willing to investigate and prosecute murderers is such a rarity. This needs to be the baseline, not the exception.
