So they are going to use LLM's to scan social media for people who's views Trump doesn't like, even though none of that's illegal. This is scary authoritarian surveillance state shit.

Also, want to bet they use it on the rest of us to just as illegally yank student loans, Social Security, etc. if this works? Because this sure looks like targeting international students because they are the most vulnerable before rolling it out on other dissenters, and marginalized populations in general.

I am not sure what action we can take, but I do know we need to stand by international students being targeted.

* Monday was Rough. A new bureaucracy turned up over the weekend that requires time and bureaucracy to solve, so after the marathon aggregate post prep, I spent an hour on the phone making an appointment to solve it in April. Then I had to hobble out on my sprained ankle for produce, bagels, etc. because I knew how thrashed I was going to be the first half of the week. This was a painful, but wise decision, given 47 is planning to crash the economy on Tuesday because that's good for billionaires.

I made it to just inside my door before the leg collapsed, leading to me getting splashed with juice. So I cleaned that up and put things away and had a salad. Then I needed a bath because juice. I was barely mobile, exhausted, in pain, and my anti-nausea drugs were wearing off when I discovered the emperor had protested my short shopping trip, by peeling back the cover to piss my bed. Luckily, he'd used most of the ammunition on the sofa pads and squirrel was still awake and willing to rescue me as I physically couldn't have managed it.

In related news, I think I've finally figured out how to trick the clothes washer into properly washing clothes without cold water, so there's that.

I was supposed to get up at 4PM to do a social thing, but my body flat out rebelled. We are talking hard shakes, eyes wouldn't focus. Limbs randomly disobeying. I kept try nap rests, but it took hours to get a viable function level. The pain is also something else and I keep injuring myself.

I am fed though.

In other news, the new used laptop, which had no delivery date in the morning, somehow crossed the country and arrived in the evening. He is named Killian. He turns on and connects to the internet. Set up is likely to be a drama, so I am working at it slowly. I don't really expect him to be in service until the weekend.

* As part of Wednesday errands, I hit the grocery store and it was chaos in there. They are dramatically reorganizing it. (I asked the cashier. Apparently the parent company is asserting centralized controlling and forcing standardization). The store was full of people like me who were drifting around trying to find things that had been in the same place for over a decade, but had been moved somewhere nonsensical, which was made worse by the fact that people were understandably shopping like the world might end. (This is me eyeing the Muscovite candidate in the White House).

Lots of empty spots on shelves, but unlike last month there was an army of employees desperately trying to restock like something out of Charlie Chaplin or the Lucy Show. They'd refill one thing then scurry to fill another. All the while lost shoppers are asking them things like where did the frozen pizza go or do you still carry dried fruit. It looked Exhausting.

At bed time I discovered that the youngest sofa cover, which was purchased in the brief period after the housing emergency and before the hard drive on my lap top started to fail, when I thought it would be okay and bought the extra cover in hopes I could use it to protect the bed, is not waterproof. Oh it SAID it was water proof, but is actually just water resistant. Water resistant is not enough when the Emperor keeps protest peeing where I sleep. Sigh. Yeah so at some point if there's any money again, I need to find one with the old school materials that actually work. In the mean time I need to go back to the overlapping pad system when the good cover that works is in the wash. I've decided I'll keep using it too so if he yanks up the pads, there will still be something slowing the seep. I may keep putting the resistant pad on top because it is a lot harder to rip up for him, being heavier and let the smaller over lapping pads catch the bleed through.

Everything is so damned hard.

I am having a rough week physically, and this means lots of extra lying down. I did manage bare minimum physio Thursday for the first time in a week. (Some physio happens everyday, but not enough.)

* Friday some Millennials came over to help set up the new old lap top. A lot of progress was made, but there is still more to do. They couldn't get modern water fox to install properly either, a bunch of files really were missing from the download either. Does any one else know a good non-profit fox branch besides water?

I'm not quite ready to try to scale it up into service because I need to get the news out by Monday morning and there are still a lot of things to do like extensions. Also they want to poke at it a little more for things like syncing browsers, but it's getting there.

This is why I much prefer migrating functions across to a new box when that's an option before the old one fails. We've been working on this since early January and their keep being obstacles.

* Newest Millennial has been working on getting Killian Laptop ready to go into service. While they were tinkering Sunday night, Edward had one of his scary black screen incidents and it took four tries and almost ten minutes to get him working again. He did it again later in the night at a less alarming moment.

He's so good and fast, and as it gets hard to convince the lemon video component inside him to work, I get worried each crash is the big one, because I will miss him so much. It'll be less catastrophic now Killian's ready for me to start spinning him up for service, but the longer Edward stays in service the easier it'll be to get Killian to run full tilt.

I'm going to attempt to start migrating functions across which eats up a lot of time to do right. Where this time will come from, I don't know, as really, I need an extra 3-4 days in a week for the aggregate with all the stuff going on and time doesn't work that way.

I have physio and bureaucracy today, plus social commitments, plus I have made promises to help someone sort out a problem Tuesday.
