* Today was a special level of exhausting. Tavy had the blerps on my bed, so I had to change that up, which is heavy work and wearing in itself. I took the car in to honest mechanic to see if it was brakes or belts. It turned out to be the new belt, which meant they tightened and lubricated it for free, rather tan us trying to raise another 350.00 for brakes. Rejoice with me, for the unearthly chattering and occasional dramatic scream has been banished from under the hood. While the nice man poked under my hood, I foraged around the corner and scored a ridiculous amount of free over grown lettuce starts. I picked up meds and library, then spent an hour out in the sun on the patio transplanting two half dead basil plants and two big healthy mixed greens flats out of the tiny start containers where they were getting root bound into every container that would take them except the composting one I am hoping to transplant the contents of the big broken pot into once the hardy greens are done seeding. it really can't go on like this another year, so I can't sacrifice that bin. This meant pulling out the long rectangular that usually is early Spring bulbs and then finding somewhere to put it in the sun, which meant a dramatic reshuffle of half the garden. I think this is not the final configuration, but everything is currently settled in acceptable locations for the night. Odds are I have another long process to finish the shuffle, but I can live with this for the night.
I still need to absolutely do tires as they are a safety hazard to the point of having alarmed yet another mechanic today. They are a blow out risk and oughtn't to be in rain at all. It rains hear eight months out of the year and we've less than a month.

* I was watching Dick Cavett interview Jim Henson and the muppets, and kept being startle by the original muppet voices, it having been so long since I'd heard the Henson versions instead of someone imitating him.
Also, 1971 Big Bird sounds like a serious stoner as does Cookie Monster and Kermit the Frog. O.o
* TNG Rewatch, Season 6:
- Face of the Enemy. I thought this one was season seven, and it is one of the episodes I particularly wanted to see. This is another episode I used to prove that Ms. Sirtius wasn't the problem; the writing of Dianna Troi was. She is so good in this. It's another data point on the season 6 and 7 were markedly better than earlier seasons once Rodenberry wasn't there to strangle character growth. Troi wakes up on a Romulan ship horrified to discover she is disguised as a Tal Shiar agent. We learn a lot more about the Romulans and we get to see a whole other side of Dianna Troi. Meanwhile Spock, the worst spy ever is still alive in the empire somehow and trying to form an underground railroad. Hence the kidnapping. I really appreciate that the Captain Troi is ordered to decieve hates the Tal Shair and has dissident opinions and objects openly to the murder of 18 people. It would be easy to make her a hardliner instead of complicating the ethics. The Enterprise is having to decide whether to trust a traitor who says he's from Spock. It's all made messier by things going tits up on the Romulan side. I love that both sides are having to rely on someone they don't trust. Throughout the "good guys" here use the methods of Authoritarianism to fight authoritarianism, while the "bad guy" displays complex ethics.
