* Tavy's response to my injury is mostly because of things like me being gone for hours and not following the routine, which has been a problem off and on since my birthday, really. He likes knowing where I am so he's both grumpy and cuddly, which sounds contradictory, but it's not if you know him. Livia was, of course, terrified of the little sandal-like foot cast I'm wearing for protection which they issued me in the emergency. Given that I banged the cast against various things approximately six times between getting home from the ER and going to bed, and would have injured it several times since, this thing is a good idea. It makes sounds when I walk and move funny though, so Poor Livia ran for her closet in a panic every time I went to the bathroom or whatever the first night. By the time I got up Tuesday, she'd glumly accepted that this was going to be a Thing. She runs from it when I'm limping about, but more out of rational concern she might get stepped on, judging from behavior and body language. She also keeps trying to bite through the velcro straps to free my foot, which is misplaced, but endearing.

The whole broken bone thing is really annoying, but I can manage during awake time with just the arthritis meds, I plan to take the mildest of my PRN narcotics at bed time, but I really don't need anything stronger for just sitting or lying still with my foot elevated. After all, I don't have a job where I'm on my feet all shift and not allowed to take time off for it to heal. I live with 5-7 level pain pretty much all the time. Adding an extra body part in 5-7 level pain is not fun, but I'm more equipped to deal with it than a healthy person would be. It's a nuisance and makes everything a couple of degrees harder a slower to accomplish, but I can manage with it as long as I'm not required to do much stuff. I will likely feed the cats I'm meant to be sitting today instead of sending Squirrel. Let us hope I don't lose parking, because I really don't have much standing/walking time with the break. I didn't even do dishes for today, though I hate letting stuff sit like that and made a dinner with a total stand time of less than five minutes. Yay emergency protein!

Update: I talked to squirrel and he said he'd feed the cat sit cats again today. I theoretically could have managed it, but my whole leg hurts, not just the foot and being wounded makes me tired. For the record? Broken toe on some of the best non-narcotic arthritis medicine on the market beats broken toe on Tylenol hands down.

I only managed about half the news, but the Internet connectivity wss getting wonky and I really wanted to just go back to bed. I tried to post this, but it took to long to get connectivity back.
