* It's nice to see Marine combat veteran Scott Olsen out and about after his near death experience at the hands of police. Still bandaged and in a neck brace, his speech still laboured as a result of the brain injury, he was out protesting in Oakland today. I hope the police don't finish what they started. his message to other protesters is, "Stay Peaceful," a message I heartily endorse.

* Meanwhile, the banks have been illegally seizing houses owned by overseas service members to which the banks were not entitled. Our government has been settling claims behind closed doors with these criminal enterprises, even though the same banks continue robo-forclosing on more service members and civilians, as they are letting them "self-regulate" and are not requiring disclosure, full payment of damages to those harmed, leveling punitive fines, etc.. After all, banks are full citizens, but mere humans, and especially service members are not.

* It turns out Rupert Murdoch used the full weight of his media empire to blackmail a thirteen year old. Classy, Mr. Murdoch, classy.

* It's looking like Treasury Secretary Paulson was giving inside information to major companies during the early stages of the financial crisis about who he was going to bail out and who he wasn't.

* They gave Murray the maximum of four years, of which he's expected to do two because of overcrowding. The judge sounded furious enough to give him more if it had been allowed, but it isn't, Doctors beinbg generally protected from criminal charges related to malpractice. I hope the other two states in which he holds a Doctor's license yank them. I truly believe that Doctors with more greed and ambition than ethics should be prevented from practicing for the protection of the public.

* Ammo USA wants you to know that both President Obama and Academy Award winning actor, Forrest Whittaker are unelected dictators who have or will ban private gun ownership. O.o They did not say which country Mr. Whittaker had taken over through violent revolution since last appearing in a film, but I am very surprised that it did not make the news. I think this quality of fact checking on their part ought to cast doubt on both their claims about Obama and the carefulness of their manufacturing. Just saying.

* Yes, I saw the clip of Rick Perry confusing the age at which you can vote in this country (18) and the age at which you can drink (21), as well as giving the wrong date for the next election. He's like Michelle Bachmann in trousers.

* It goes without saying that I side with Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon on the issue of the latest corporate attempt to close down all sites with user generated content, from Youtube to this site you are reading now. I am against it, obviously. I think it'd pretty much render the internet nearly useless.

* Today was mostly more cleaning of the old place. One more day of cleaning left. I expect I shall spend all or most of December unpacking. My room already needs cleaning again, what with all the new stuff piled in there from today. Every hour I'm away from the rotting apartment building subtly improves my lungs. Every hour I'm over there breathing in spores and fumes, I can actually feel my lungs getting worse. I have three or four small, but crucial things I need to remember to do over there before we turn in the keys. I also need to find time to copy and mail some documents for the lawyer at some point tomorrow. My bet is that won't happen and my sister will call me all furious. Sigh.

I wish I weren't so feverish.
